Another year has gone by, and SA&T has now reached her 11th anniversary.
This year I’ve been spending a percentage of my time working at a University and in the NHS in Bristol, UK, which has been motivating and insightful, though naturally meant less time available for SA&T initiatives. Alongside this, I have continued providing some online therapy sessions, supervision, and training in both Vicarious Trauma, and EMDR & Art Therapy combined.
A highlight was running a course with support from yogi and band manager Stephanie Knibbe, whose contributions brought fresh perspectives to both delivery and administration.
I was also pleased to see my chapter on group supervision included in a new publication, and to contribute the cover artwork for the book 'Group Supervision and the Influence of Culture', thanks to the incredible editor Margaret Smith!

As EMDR continues to develop, I’ve been following discussions around practitioner wellbeing and client safety. One area requiring increasing attention is working in extreme temperatures, so I’ve included some Working in Heat Guidelines for EMDR practitioners as a pause for thought for myself, and a resource for colleagues. The UK seems to still be in, though leaving, a pre air conditioner era.

A joyful development has been a continued organic increase in EMDR & Art Therapy supervisees from, or based in, Ireland. Also, finding a friendly climbing spot on the Emerald Isle, for future climbing therapy. When it's not raining or a heatwave!
Thank you to everyone who has been part of SA&T over the year; clients, supervisees, students, supervisors, trainers, colleagues, and collaborators. I appreciate your support and look forward to seeing what the next year brings.
