“EMDR and Art Psychotherapy combined Training day”
A workshop presented by Lee Anna Simmons, Art Psychotherapist, SA&T
EMDR West Midlands Regional Support Group
Friday, 7 September 2018 from 09:30 to 16:30 (BST)
This workshop will share methods for bringing art to EMDR practice, derived from Lee Anna Simmons Art & EMDR Psychotherapy sessions at SA&T (Social Art & Therapy). Simmons experience as an artist helps her therapy practice reach diverse communities, to work non-verbally and harness their creativity in surfacing un-conscious drives, defence mechanisms and wisdom. Simmons has found combining art with EMDR helpful with a wide range of clients including adults, children and adolescents through private practice and within public services. This work includes attachment difficulties, hoarding, single and multiple trauma, and phobias.
Art Psychotherapy & EMDR theory and practice will be explored through group discussion, exercises and case studies.
